Status Glossary
Every engagement in Lens has a status that reflects where it is in the audit lifecycle. The status is visible on each engagement card on the home screen and in the Canvas header.
Status progression is forward only — an engagement cannot return to a previous status.
Intake
The engagement has been created and data gathering is underway. The Engagement Profile may have been completed, but most sections are still awaiting input.
What is typically happening: You are visiting the dealership, collecting documents, conducting interviews with service management, and beginning to upload material into the audit sections.
What comes next: As sections accumulate input and summaries begin to appear, the engagement typically transitions to Analysis.
Analysis
The main evidence-gathering phase is substantially complete. Most sections have input, and Lens is surfacing findings and synthesizing summaries. The picture is taking shape, but some areas may still need refinement.
What is typically happening: You are reviewing the findings as they emerge, answering follow-up questions, and identifying which areas need more evidence or stronger recommendations.
What comes next: When the findings are complete and you are satisfied with the picture, the engagement moves to Review.
Review
The findings are complete and the engagement is in the review and refinement phase. The report is being reviewed in the Principal view, feedback comments are being resolved, and the language is being finalised.
What is typically happening: You may be sharing a draft PDF with the Dealer Principal for informal review. You are working through the Feedback Rail, resolving comments, and doing a final read of the Principal view.
What comes next: Sign-off.
Signed
The engagement has been signed off. The report is final — the DRAFT watermark has been removed, the consultant’s name and date appear on the report, and the PDF is available to download. The signed version is the baseline for future re-engagements.
What is typically happening: The report has been delivered to the Dealer Principal. Implementation of the action plan may be underway.
What comes next: Monitoring, or a new engagement cycle when the next audit is commissioned.
Monitoring
The engagement is complete and the dealership is in an active monitoring period — implementing the action plan and tracking progress against the signed baseline.
What is typically happening: The dealership is working through the 30/60/90-day actions. The consultant may be in periodic check-in contact.
What comes next: A future engagement will compare against the signed baseline from this engagement.
Status is assigned by Lens based on your activity — it is not something you set manually. The transition from Intake to Analysis and from Analysis to Review happens automatically as sections accumulate input and findings emerge.
