Use AI Insights

The Intelligence drawer is an AI-powered advisor built into the Payments Dashboard. It answers financial questions using your live dashboard metrics as grounding context — the AI sees only the aggregate verdict data from the sections your role can access, never raw transaction rows or customer details.

Who can do this: Any team member with dashboard access whose organisation has an AI provider configured in Intelligence Settings.

Open the Intelligence drawer

Open the Dashboard from the main navigation.

Click the Intelligence button

A sparkle icon button appears in the dashboard header (visible only if your organisation has an AI provider configured). Click it to open the Intelligence drawer as a side panel.

Browse the question bank

The drawer sidebar displays categorised starter questions organised by financial domain:

CategoryExample questions
CashWhen is the next shortfall? Which AP is most urgent? Do inflows cover fixed costs?
ReceivablesWho owes the most? What is in the 90+ day AR bucket? What is our DSO?
InsurersWhich insurer is riskiest? Is there concentration risk?
LocationsHow do locations compare? Which location has the best collection rate?
RevenueIs revenue healthy? How do expenses compare to revenue?
CollectionsWhere is the funnel dropping off? What is digital payment adoption?

Ask a question

Click a starter question or type your own in the input field. The AI generates an answer grounded in your current dashboard data.

How grounding works

When you ask a question, BayWise assembles a grounding context from the verdict chips and metrics visible on your dashboard sections. This context includes:

  • Verdict states (GOOD / WATCH / CRITICAL) for each metric
  • Aggregate numbers (totals, percentages, trends)
  • Location metadata (currency, scope, location name)

The AI receives this context alongside a financial-advisor system prompt and your question. It responds with analysis anchored to your actual numbers.

The AI only sees sections your role can access. If your role does not include the Operations tab, the AI has no operations data to reference. Answers are scoped to your visibility.

Common questions

Is my data sent to a third-party AI provider? Yes. Questions and the grounding context (aggregate metrics only — no customer names, transaction IDs, or raw rows) are sent to the provider configured in Intelligence Settings. Requests go directly from your browser to the provider API.

Can I save questions I ask frequently? The question bank provides pre-built starter questions. Custom saved questions are planned for a future release.

Why does the AI say it does not have enough data? If certain dashboard sections have not loaded yet, or if your location is new and lacks historical data, the grounding context may be sparse. The AI will indicate when it cannot answer confidently due to missing data.
