Assigning skills to a technician

Technician skills are set in the Techs tab. Open a technician’s profile and select all the skills that apply.

A technician can have multiple skills. For example, a technician might have both Spray Painting and Surface Prep skills, meaning they can be assigned to both prep and paint steps in a Body Major job.

How skills affect scheduling

When you assign a technician to a job step that has a required skill, BayWise checks the technician’s skill profile. If the required skill is present, the assignment proceeds. If not, BayWise will warn you.

For AI scheduling, skill matching is automatic — BayWise will not suggest a technician for a step they are not qualified for.
