Configure Intelligence Settings
The Intelligence drawer on the Dashboard uses an AI provider to answer financial questions grounded in your live metrics. Before you can use it, you need to configure which provider and model to use, and supply the required credentials. Configuration is per-location and scoped to your organisation — credentials are never shared across organisations.
Who can do this: Account Owner, Org Admin, or Location Manager only.

Configure a provider
Open Settings
From the main navigation, open Settings and select the Intelligence tab.
Select a provider
Use the Provider dropdown to choose your AI provider. Selecting a provider updates the Model dropdown to show that provider’s available models.
Select a model
Choose the model you want to use. Larger models generally produce more detailed answers but may respond more slowly.
Enter credentials
- Ollama: Enter your Ollama server URL (e.g.,
http://192.168.1.100:11434). The URL must be reachable from the user’s browser. - Gemini / OpenAI / Claude: Enter the API key from your provider’s dashboard. The field is masked for security.
After you type or paste the credential, BayWise validates it automatically within a few seconds. A status indicator shows:

Save
Click Save. After saving, reload the page to activate the new configuration. A convenience link appears after a successful save.
API keys are stored securely in your location’s payment settings. They are never transmitted to BayWise servers — all AI requests are made directly from your browser to the provider’s API. Changing providers preserves the previously saved keys for other providers, so switching back does not require re-entering credentials.
Common questions
Can I use different providers at different locations? Yes. Intelligence settings are per-location. Sharma Motors Mumbai can use Ollama while Al Futtaim Auto Dubai uses OpenAI.
What if I do not configure any provider? The Intelligence drawer button on the Dashboard will not appear until a provider is configured and saved.
Does the provider choice affect the quality of answers? Yes. Larger models (gpt-4o, claude-sonnet-4-20250514, gemini-1.5-pro) tend to give more nuanced financial analysis. Smaller models (gpt-4o-mini, qwen2.5:7b) respond faster but may provide less detailed insights.
