Getting Started — Technicians

This guide is for technicians joining BayWise Scheduler. You have been added to the system by your workshop manager. This guide shows you how to access the app, clock in, and see what jobs are assigned to you.

Getting access

Accept your invitation

Open the invitation email from BayWise and click Accept Invite. Create a password, then sign in.

If you don’t have an invitation email, ask your workshop manager or controller.

Clock in at the start of your shift

When you sign in at the start of your shift, BayWise may ask you to clock in before you can see the full dashboard.

To clock in:

  1. Open the Techs tab (or follow the prompt shown on screen)
  2. Find your name in the technician list
  3. Tap Clock In

Voice clock-in: On supported devices, you can use your voice instead of tapping. Say your name clearly when prompted. Ask your controller if this is enabled at your workshop.

Some workshops have automatic clock-in enabled — if your manager has turned this on, you are assumed to be clocked in as soon as you open the app during your shift hours. Your controller will let you know which applies.

View your assigned jobs

Once clocked in, the Dashboard shows today’s calendar. Your assigned jobs appear as coloured cards in the calendar grid.

You can also see your status in the Technician Status Board on the right side of the Dashboard — it shows whether you are Working, On Break, or your Next Job.

Update a job step when you start or finish work

When you start working on a job step:

  • Open the job card
  • Tap Start Step

When you finish:

  • Tap Complete Step

If something blocks you from finishing (waiting for parts, waiting for approval):

  • Use the job’s Pause option and let your controller know

Common questions

I cannot sign in. Check that you used the same email address from your invitation. If you forgot your password, use the Forgot password link on the sign-in page.

I can’t see any jobs on the calendar. Your controller or service advisor assigns jobs to technicians. If you see an empty calendar, you may not have any jobs assigned yet for today. Check with your controller.

The clock-in button is not there. Your workshop may have automatic clock-in enabled — your attendance is recorded automatically when you open the app. Check with your controller if you’re unsure.
